These defined tracks were found along the Paluxy River in Glen Rose, Texas, running right next to Dinosaur Valley State Park. The tracks are believed to belong to the carnivorous Acrocanthosaurus (or “high-spined lizard”) and the herbivorous Sauroposeidon (or “lizard earthquake god”). The tracks left by these massive creatures have allowed scientists to learn more about their creators, ultimately leading to discoveries that gave these creatures their own species name and separating them from other prehistoric beasts.\n\nWhile many of the tracks that were once there are now eroded away due to the fast moving water around the area, the Texas Memorial Museum works to preserve the selection of fossils in their care and maintain the history and insights that they provide.
